Hello…

Nigel Edwards

Hello and welcome to my WordPress blog pages.

The purpose of this blog is to engage with fellow bloggers who share an interest in writing, reading, and publishing.  I freely confess that there is a bit of self-promotion here.  As a writer I would be delighted if, after viewing these pages, you visited Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and Smashwords to look up some of my published works.

But I don’t wish to give the impression that this blog is purely self-serving.  I hope that visitors will contribute views on all things literary.  What are your likes and dislikes?  What genres do you enjoy reading?  Is that different to your preferences for writing?  What have been your experiences of finding a publisher or an agent?

Do you attend a writer’s group at all, a place where you can share critique of each other’s work?  Where do you think the future of writing lies?  Will hard copy pages soon be a thing of the past, or will the good old-fashioned paperback survive this brave new millennium?

Who are the authors that have most influenced you?  What is it about them or their work that makes them stand out?

As this blog develops I will put my own opinions and ideas forward but don’t wait for me.  If you have something that needs to be said, say it.

Finally, please avoid rudeness or crudity for the sake of it.  If you have a reasoned argument or valid point of view then you should be able to express it without recourse to the language of fools.  If you believe you have some writing skill then it should be no problem at all.

Thank you, and I look forward to reading your thoughts.
